berry bros. & rudd

Berry Bros. & Rudd needed a workplace, that would evolve the traditions and culture of their special relationship with their customers. Our purpose was to design a store that welcomes everyone from novices to fully-fledged wine connoisseurs.

Our design emphasises material connections to the natural rural environment of winemaking, with a reclaimed ceiling made from 100-year-old wine barrel staves and a specific tasting area, made in natural stone.

The store celebrates the craftsmanship of the many specialists that contributed their skills, from traditional gold sign-writing and bell making, to state of the art enomatic tasting machines.

Our relationship with Mowat & Company goes back six years to when we first worked together on a project at Buckingham Palace. Since then Alex and his team have become an extension of our team. Our award-winning shop at 63 Pall Mall is testament to what can be achieved when a collaborative team comes together to tackle both the redevelopment of a historic building and the interiors. The thinking is holistic, consistent and considered and the results can be extraordinary.
